BlackBerry is a Canadian company originally known for manufacturing mobile devices in Canada. However, the manufacturing of physical products significantly declined around 2016 when BlackBerry shifted away from making smartphones to focusing on software and services. Although the initial design and development processes were conducted in Canada, production was outsourced mainly to facilities outside of Canada, such as in Mexico and other countries through partnerships with other manufacturers. Currently, BlackBerry primarily focuses on cybersecurity and software services, with their headquarters still based in Waterloo, Ontario.
